BOTOX® or Surgery: Questions to Ask Yourself
- What features or characteristics of your face do you want to change? Being able to point out those things that you want to change is an important part of discussing your treatment options.
- What areas of your face do you want to change? BOTOX® is most often used to treat vertical lines between the eyebrows and across the forehead, crow’s feet and other lines. Depending on the procedure, a surgical rejuvenation may improve the look of the forehead, mid-face, cheeks, chin, jaw and neck contour.
- How long do you want the results to last? BOTOX® is a great way to rejuvenate your face quickly, without surgery. But the results will begin to fade after a few months. Surgical procedures tend to produce longer-lasting results.
- What are you willing to invest in terms of time, budget and recovery? Cosmetic surgery has a higher up-front cost and greater time investment than BOTOX®, which has virtually no downtime and can be completed in one simple appointment.
There are factors to weigh when considering both options. Dr. Gonyon and our staff will make sure you have all the information and guidance you need to make a decision.
